Munah Bagharib first rose to fame as one half of the popular YouTube comedy duo MunahHirziOfficial. When that 10-year chapter came to a close, the bubbly personality went on to explore a different creative outlet – acting.

Her decision to pivot paid off. Today, the multifaceted entertainer is not only a regular TV presenter, but also an accomplished stage actress, having earned a Best Actress nomination in 2020 at The Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards.

On the third episode of Majulah Melayu, Munah talks about what legacy means to her as one of the YouTube pioneers in Singapore, and her exciting new role as Hanie in the upcoming stage adaptation of La Luna by Teater Ekamatra.

Beyond the realms of work, she also bares her soul about navigating life as a caretaker when her mother was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

“Inspired by the acclaimed 2023 film by director M.Raihan Halim (Clover Films and Papahan Films), La Luna follows the quiet upheaval of a small village after the arrival of a modern lingerie shop run by an unwelcome newcomer, Hanie.”
